Sundarban's damages due to Cyclone Yaas in Bangladesh are seen in various areas like Karamjol. Cyclone Yaas has caused about 5 to 6 feet of water to rise in the Sundarbans. It is known that the entire Sundarbans were in this condition from 12:30 pm to 2:30 pm on Tuesday, May 25, 2021.

There has been a lot of damage due to rising water and storms because of Yaas and the full moon. The lives of various wild animals have been damaged.

Forest dwellers say the deer were running aimlessly to save their lives during the floods. Similar behavior was observed in other animals including monkeys.

They have informed us about one thing. A vicious circle enters the forest at the time of any disaster. Their purpose is to easily catch deer, which is completely illegal.

Several installations in the eastern Sundarbans, including 19 jetties, six vessels, and some watchtowers, were damaged. At least 10 office tin sheds have been uprooted.

As a result of saltwater entering 9 ponds, there has been a crisis of potable water. 4 dead deer have been rescued. The death toll from deer could rise further. Although the shed was damaged, the wild animals of Karamjol Wildlife Breeding Center in the Sundarbans have been saved.

Employees there said the water had risen from one and a half to two feet on the road. They also said that other times the tide does not last long. But this time the water has been there for a long time.

The Sundarbans has lack highlands. Experts have suggested building high mounds and digging deep ponds at various places in the Sundarbans to protect wildlife from storms and tidal surges. If high mounds are constructed in different parts of the Sundarbans, wild animals will be able to take shelter in storm surges. The forest department is working to determine the damage of Cyclone Yaas.

Earlier, on May 20, 2020, several animals died in the Sundarbans due to the impact of cyclone Amphan. Through the mangrove forest Sundarbans, by the grace of Almighty Allah, coastal people have been repeatedly protected from natural disasters like Cyclone Yaas.

Sundarban's damages due to Cyclone Yaas in Bangladesh have affected the wildlife. Damaged various trees and water sources for animals. It's high time to take necessary steps to reduce the effects of these disasters on wildlife. Everything happens according to one's will. If we take the right steps, he will help us in such a situation.
